Footseps2Brilliance Summer Reading Program

Even though our "official" summer school has now ended, summer learning can continue at-home utilizing our Footseps2Brilliance reading program! The Virtual Summer School and Summer Climb resources are available for the next five weeks for all students in PreK - Grade 3. If you need your child's individual login information, it is available for pick-up at the MCBOE, located at 108 South Harney Street. All students attending the Mitchell County School System's Summer School Program from May 24 - June 25 received their login information on Friday. Click on title for more details.

GA Department of Public Health-Returning to School Amid COVID-19 Pandemic Handouts

The GA Department of Public Health has prepared several handouts to help parents and students prepare to return to school amid COVID-19 Pandemic. The handouts include information about returning to school, Symptom screening checklist for elementary students, middle and high school students, persons entering the building, and parent/guardian attestation. Mitchell County Superintendent Search Community Survey

The Mitchell County Board of Education has begun the search for a new superintendent. A survey has been developed by the Georgia School Boards Association to help the board better understand the wishes of the community as decisions are made during the superintendent search. The survey is very short and is being provided to the community to get your ideas regarding the qualities you feel are important for our next superintendent to possess. The 4th Quarter ended Friday, April 10, 2020; Promotion/retention will be sent home on April 15. Summer Break will be from April 13-July 17. School Resumes on July 20, 2020. Dual enrollment students continue to do school and follow college schedule!! Stay in touch with Ms. L. Brinkley or Ms. J. Good. Mini-mester will be held from April 20 to June 12. This is a great opportunity for students to catch-up, move ahead or accelerate.

Mitchell County School System Closed for Students

April 1: Governor Brian P. Kemp signed Executive Order closing all public elementary, secondary, and post-secondary public schools in Georgia for in-person instruction for the remainder of the school term. Online instruction will continue.
