Footsteps to Brilliance in 3rd Grade

Ms. V. Sellars’ students were introduced to Footsteps to Brilliance on September 14, 2017. These children were very engaged in their work. They were singing to themselves, or so they thought. They were wearing headphones and because they were so engaged, they forgot that everyone else could hear them! .....

MCES 25 Books Campaign

The 25 Books Campaign is a school-wide initiative requiring all students to read 25 books during the academic school year. August 18-Campaign Kick-off.

Donations of School Supplies

Schools Closed September 13

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: The Mitchell County School System will be closed (students only) on Wednesday, September 13th due to power outages (Hurricane Irma). Faculty and Staff will report to work on Wednesday, September 13th. School will resume on Thursday, September 14th for students, faculty and staff. Baconton Community Charter School will be closed on Wednesday, September 13th for students/employees.

Parent-Teacher Conference

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on September 7 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at MCPS, MCMS, MCHS. MCES will have APTT on Sept. 14.

MCES Raises $1100 for Hoops for Heart

Hoops for Heart is a national fundraising program jointly sponsored by SHAPE America and the American Heart Association. HFH promotes physical activity, heart healthy living, and community service. AHA programs teach students valuable lessons that will last a lifetime.

MCES Hosts Its Last APTT Meeting

Mitchell County Elementary School hosted its last APTT Meeting for the 2016-2017 school year. Parents came out to learn about foundational skills in Math and Reading that their students were struggling or excelling in at school. The parents were given activities to use at home to help their children practice the different skills.
