Footsteps to Brilliance in 3rd Grade Ms. V. Sellars’ students were introduced to Footsteps to Brilliance on September 14, 2017. These children were very engaged in their work. They were singing to themselves, or so they thought. They were wearing headphones and because they were so engaged, they forgot that everyone else could hear them! .....

Schools Closed September 13 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: The Mitchell County School System will be closed (students only) on Wednesday, September 13th due to power outages (Hurricane Irma). Faculty and Staff will report to work on Wednesday, September 13th. School will resume on Thursday, September 14th for students, faculty and staff. Baconton Community Charter School will be closed on Wednesday, September 13th for students/employees.

MCES Raises $1100 for Hoops for Heart Hoops for Heart is a national fundraising program jointly sponsored by SHAPE America and the American Heart Association. HFH promotes physical activity, heart healthy living, and community service. AHA programs teach students valuable lessons that will last a lifetime.
