Q1. Who would I contact with an attendance concern?
Answer: You may contact Mrs. Vanessa Williams, guidance counselor. (229) 336-2118 


Q2. How do I obtain a copy of my child's student records?
Answer: Contact Mitchell County Elementary's guidance department and inform them of your request of records. The guidance department will then copy your child's records and provide them to you. Proper identification will be requested to verify guardianship of child. Please understand that the state of Georgia allows us 30 days to meet your request. However, given a minimum of 24-hour notice your records may be available to you.


Q3. How do I register my child?
Answer:
The first step in enrolling your child at MCES is to withdraw him or her from his or her current school. Once you have proof of your child's withdrawal, bring documentation to the Mitchell County Board of Education, 108 S. Harney St. where address verification's are done. Documents you will need for address verification are rental agreement or mortgage statement AND utility bill. Once the address verification is done you will be directed to the school your child is zoned for to complete the enrollment process. Enrollment must be done by legal guardian. Q4:  Where can I find out more information about the tests required by the state.
 Answer:  GA Milestones Assessment System is a comprehensive summative assessment program for grade 3 to High School.  Students in grades 3-8 take end-of-grade assessment in English Language Arts and Mathematics; students in grades 5 and 8 also are accessed in science and social studies.  High School students take an end-of-course assessment for each of the 10 courses designated by the State Board of Education including 9th Grade Literature, 11th Grade American Lit, Algebra I or Coordinate Algebra, Geometry or Analytic Geometry, Biology, Physical Science, United States History and Economics
