Overview of House System

We are excited to be implementing a House System at MCES during the 2020-2021 school year. You may be asking what exactly a House System is and why we have chosen to implement one here.  The school is divided into subunits called "houses" and each student is allocated to one house at the moment of enrollment. At MCES we have three houses, Phoenix House, Griffin House and Pegasus House. All students, faculty and staff are assigned to a house. Students and teachers assigned to a house are all on one hallway.

Schools can be a big place to navigate. Our House System allows for students to foster relationships in a smaller setting, give them a place to belong and receive support, not just from their classroom teacher, but all the members of their house. Additionally, in the House System there are more opportunities for students to assist each other and participate in leadership roles. Students will be helping our faculty and staff with the “building” of our houses this year. Friendly competitions and character education are conducted through our house system.

We are eager to welcome each student HOME!
