APTT and STEM Night At MCES

“All young people should be prepared to think deeply and to think well so that they have the chance to become the innovators, educators, researchers, and leaders who can solve the most pressing challenges facing our nation and our world, both today and tomorrow.” During his tenure, President Obama articulated a clear priority for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education. We at Mitchell County Elementary School believe in providing such opportunities to extend our students learning. So on the night of February 15, 2018, while parents and teachers were meeting, our students were engaged in a fun, yet educational evening of experiments, research, construction, and so much more. As the evening came to an end, many of the children could be heard saying how much fun they had, but were able to articulate in detail the explanations of the activities they had completed.
